This track begins with a screaming vocal intro and attacks in with heavy drums a driving rhythmic guitar riff. The choruses are layered with strummed chords and guitar leads. The bridge offers a electronic feel with digital drums and vocal augmentations that lead into a breakdown outro. The Lyrical content looks at the idea of where our joy and happiness comes from. We have to stay in synch with our passions and our callings, even though it doesn't make sense to those around us. Available as a vocal version and an instrumental version.

Lyrics: | Oh my God! An artificial race of hopelessness Disguised in prosperity I've seen how this ends You've been mislead We've got it all wrong So give me time to fix this crime The wind scars This worlds alive fools, I'll break my back for this My lungs This worlds alive fools, I'll break my back for this We are the sons Theres blood on our hands The sons of every war I've seen the way you've looked at me Like I'm nothing, nothing but scum But still I feel like I'm moving on I'll do it by myself you coward The wind scars This worlds alive fools, I'll break my back for this My lungs This worlds alive fools, I'll break my back for this X2 Theres blood on our hands Oh my God! is it worth the blood? |

Hailing from the frozen north known as Minnesota, Lessons are a heavy hitting, melodically driven metal-core band whose passion, as well as ferocity comes forth every time they take the stage. Formed in early 2012, the band released their first EP "Five Points" of that same year. With one EP under their belt, they used the next year to establish themselves as a live act. Throughout 2013 Lessons built their roster of shows, including playing festivals like Sonshine and Audiofeed. After a productive summer they took the fall of 2013 to write and record their second EP "American Ghosts." With the new release closely approaching, Lessons hope to secure their place among their heavy music peers.
"One of the most compelling metal-core cuts I've heard this year" -HM Magazine
