All The Right Moves is a 5-piece pop/punk alternative rock band from Minneapolis, MN that highly infuses the elements of piano, violin, and three-part vocal harmonies in their music. With members that have been jamming together for over 6 years, the band's had a long journey, and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

THE ORIGIN

In 2005, songwriters Brandon Daly and Braden Ashworth met on their first day of Classical Piano class during their freshmen year at Mankato State University, Minnesota. After finding out that they shared nearly a carbon-copy of musical influences, they began to jam together in the dorm halls, laundry rooms, and lounges of the MSU Campus. "One day, we rode the 15-floor elevator in our dorm hall up and down all night long and played songs on acoustic guitars for people coming on and off the elevator", states Brandon Daly. "We were trying to swoon the ladies... and meet some party people. Our songs weren't very good at first. But then we just kept writing..."

Soon the duo teamed up with violinist, and fellow music industry major, Jimmy Chaos and became an acoustic trio called "The Evermore Escape". The inclusion of violin in their music seemed to have been the secret ingredient that set the group on fire. They started packing venues around the Southern MN area, opening for major national acts, and in the next three years to come, the band would release an acoustic LP in 2005 entitled "The Setting of Sails and Sons", an acoustic EP in 2006 called "Trace the Night", and a full-band LP in 2007, entitled "Are You Ready?". An ironic album title that would mark the transition of many new things to come.

ALL THE RIGHT MOVES IS BORN

In 2008, The Evermore Escape lost their violin player, Jimmy Chaos when he decided to move to Chicago to pursue a new career. At this time the remaining members decided to pack up their things and move to Minneapolis to re-sort, re-group and begin planning a new album. Along with the new city came an exciting new style of songwriting for the group. "It was practically an entirely new project", states pianist/ singer Brandon Daly. "We wanted to start fresh with new members and we felt a name-change was only fitting for the new sound". As fate would have, they soon met violinist Roman Wolfe and drummer Dustin Phillips, and became the ALL THE RIGHT MOVES you know and love today.

ALL THE RIGHT MOVES entered the studio with producer Jordan Schmidt- (who also recorded Quietdrive, Motion City Soundtrack, All Time Low). The debut EP swept the internet and local music scene faster than the band could keep up. The EP became viral both locally and online and served as a very explosive launchpad for the band for the next few years to come. That same year they won the "Fox 9 Battle of the Bands". A regional battle that featured over 100 bands from the area. As part of the winning prize, they were given the opportunity to re-write a jingle for Pizza Hut and star in a T.V. commercial for their own rendition of the famous "488-8888" Pizza Hut Jingle. The band has since played select dates on Warped Tour for five consecutive years, they've toured the country's perimeter, sold over 25,000 units, hit the Top 10 Smartpunk.com Best Selling Albums Charts, and have had the opportunity to open for national & global acts such as All Time Low, Plain White T's, Mayday Parade, The Audition, Lucky Boys Confusion, Forever the Sickest Kids, Rookie of the Year, Quietdrive and more...

In June of 2010, All The Right Moves released their second EP release, "The Monster I've Become" , which gained much notoriety from having songs played on MTV's Real World: Las Vegas, Cutthroat Challenge, Battle of the Exes, ABC's "How To Live With Your Parents" (coming 2013) and more. The band also had a song used on the soundtrack to the summer 2012 New Line Cinema motion picture, "Piranha 3DD" - a film staring David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey, Christopher Llyod, etc. The EP received 4 out of 5 star ratings on Absolutepunk.net and the band hasn't slowed down since.

In Summer of 2011, All The Right Moves took home the trophy as the winners of the Journey's Battle of the Bands contest; an event which landed them an opening slot with The Plain White T's... and a year's supply of Converse shoes. A summer of heavy East Coast & Midwest touring led them to a ONE Condoms sponsorship, CCP Drums sponsorship, and a Silverfox Percussion sponsorship. In Summer of 2012, All The Right Moves took home the silver medal in the Rawkzilla Magazine Battle of the Bands contest. A national competition that featured over 250 bands and 5 months of show battles leading up to the finale.

THE NEW ALBUM

The band decided to up the ante this past October 2011 by driving out to New Jersey for three weeks to shack-up with platinum producer, and ex-guitar player of Hidden In Plain View, Rob Freeman (who also recorded Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship, Hit The Lights). Together they spawned their fourth release (their debut LP), entitled "When Your Compass Breaks" which came out on 9/21/12.

"We are extremely excited to release this album", states Brandon Daly, "It's our first full-length album as All The Right Moves. It features 11-songs, 9 of which are brand new, and 2 of which are re-makes of some of the more popular Evermore Escsape songs, as a throw-back to all our old fans. There are fast songs, slow songs, and story songs. We tried to put a lot more focus on the lyrics and storytelling this time around. And we created transitions in-between tracks so that there is no gap in silence... we wanted the album to feel like a movie, from start to finish. The last track is 10 minutes long, an epic closer to the album, and it is the reason for the album's name, "When Your Compass Breaks". I have to give props to our producer, Rob Freeman. He was a huge part of this record. We meshed with him musically like peanut butter and jelly. We've never been so proud of a record before, and we couldn't have done it without him."
