Lyrics: God only knows
Why all the things I love keep me up til 3am.
All the poison I put in my blood
Is messing with my head.
4 pm on the bathroom floor again.
Is this where I live

Am I losing it

Well, I should be paying rent
For all the times I crash in this apartment.
Who’s is it anyway

And How did I end up here

God only knows
Why all the things I love keep me up til 3am.
All the poison I put in my blood
Is messing with my head.
I wanna go to California.
Get the fuck out
Before I lose all motivation to do anything
Other than running in circles
That don’t ever get me anywhere.
I open my big mouth but I’m still here.
In this town, they don’t take no for an answer,
All my good friends tell me to relax.
Smile and take a seat, have another drink.
I should be paying rent with all the cash
I spent on booze and cigarettes.
When I know better,
How did I end up here

I guess I’m just a sucker for the flashing neon lights.
They leave me bruised,
I’m turning black and blue.
God only knows
Why all the things I love keep me up til 3am.
All the poison I put in my blood
Is messing with my head.
I wanna go to California.
Get the fuck out
Before I lose all motivation to do anything
Other than running in circles
That don’t ever get me anywhere.
I always talk talk talk,
But I never back it up.
Talk talk talk,
But I never back it up.
I’m tired of living my life face down on the floor.
God only knows
Why all the things I love keep me up til 3am.
All the poison I put in my blood
Is messing with my head.
I wanna go to California.
Get the fuck out
Before I lose all motivation to do anything
Other than running in circles
That don’t ever get me anywhere.
I wanna go to California.
I wanna go to California.
I opened my big mouth
I opened my big mouth,
But I'm still here.

About the Artist
Take Cover Take Cover

Take Cover formed in the fall of 2007 and hit the ground running. After a few months of writing, they entered the studio in the spring to record with their good friend and producer Jordan Schmidt (All Time Low, Motion City Soundtrack). Their debut self-titled EP was released that September and was followed by a first tour with Minnesota natives Sing It Loud (Epitaph Records) and You, Me and Everyone We Know (Doghouse Records). The boys were honored to begin their journey as a band with such an esteemed touring package and didn't let the momentum stop there. After touring on their self-titled EP that following winter and spring of 2009, they began the writing process for their sophomore EP "The Last Word." (Also produced by Jordan Schmidt). Following a sold out hometown release show for this EP, Take Cover hit the road once more in the summer and fall of 2009 with Quietdrive (formerly Sony Records) and The Higher (Epitaph Records). Over the winter of 2009, Take Cover began putting together an acoustic EP titled "Waiting in the Moment", consisting of both old and new songs. This online release, debuting in January of 2010, gave the fans a unique look into the versatility of the band, all the while giving the band more time to write new full band songs during the winter. Take Cover released their debut full length, "The Dreamer and The Realist" (produced by Jordan Schmidt) in June of 2011, and hit the road with pop giants Every Avenue and Hit the Lights. Take Cover has also shared the stage with such acts as The Fold, William Beckett (The Academy Is), Danny Stevens (The Audition), Jamestown Story, Reel Big Fish and The Graduate. Take Cover parted ways in April 2012 to a sold out crowd and have since started new projects.
