Lyrics: | You say it aint over, but we're running out of time now Waking up sober, you like making a mess don't ya? Your consumptive eye, the more I try to understand A rush of surprise, and then you rise and take control I tracked you down, by the light of the moon Through hungry wolves, who circle and swoon You keep them calling, you keep them abashed Causing heads to turn and cars to crash And no one knows until it's night The frozen time before daylight A healthy madness in your trail Not many live to tell the tales These old habits, your opportunity feeds on mine Underneath the covers, sketching you in my mind With guns on out temples, winking at the absence of danger Without all reason, you're still seeing what you want to I swallowed my anger, I swallowed my pain I tried to change, just so things aren't the same She was always cold, but never unkind I could satisfy her body, but I could never satisfy her mind The boat to China is so slow I've seen more than you'll ever show The hunger drags us through the dawn And leaves us all battered and torn You say it aint over, but we're running out of time now Waking up sober, you like making a mess don't ya? Your consumptive eye, the more I try to understand A rush of surprise, and then you rise and take control These old habits, your opportunity feeds on mine Underneath the covers, sketching you in my mind |
