Lyrics: | Have you heard the news of my boy Jack? He set sail upon the sea When do you think that he’ll come back? This distance is sickening me Has anyone had word from him? For the wind is blowing strong And what is sunk will hardly swim With the tide that’s moving on My love what comfort can I find? In days as they pass by My dear jack he sailed to sea for to not shame his kind I’ll hold my head up all the more This son that I have bore With all my heart I grieve for him And will forever more |
