Lyrics: | I remember you Sitting by the fireside With nothing to do But cozy up and sing along So when did Christmastime seem to change I’d like everything to be the same As it was Do you remember when the world was green And not so mean? Not so obscene I’d like to go there if just for a day If I could find a way Nothing can be as it used to be It sure don’t feel like Christmas anymore It’s Christmastime again Another year, with all my friends And all the family too So why do I still feel blue? And when did Christmastime seem to change I'd like everything to be the same As it was The little drum kit that my uncle gave me As I banged away and drove my father crazy I’d like to play them if just for a day If I could find a way Nothing can be as it used to be It sure don’t feel like Christmas anymore I know a man who specializes in time travel He sells some plans for a device that I saw in the back of a Boy’s Life Soon as I get some cash I’m gonna buy these plans and go build myself a time machine Then I'll go back in time see the family, how it was and that'll fix everything So I walked through the door Christmas day in ’84 We all looked so young Playing games, having fun But the old me did not feel that same old way Nothing like that young boy on Christmas day (in ‘84) I stood around and I thought for a while As my mother sang, and my sister smiled The world will never really ever change But I can’t say the same Nothing can be as it used to be It sure don’t feel like Christmas anymore |
