Lyrics: | Verse One Woo-oo-oo, mm-hmm (Hit me) People everywhere, trying to find Find a little love, find some peace of mind Like a valley low, their poverty takes its toll As a mountain high, pursuit of wealth don’t satisfy, no In the mind Peace of mind Peace of mind In the mind Verse Two Some try medication, transcendental meditation (aah) Go to the wilderness, shun the world of all affection Some choose reality, achieve some spiritual degree, whatever it goes Yeah, people are trying to find In the mind Peace of mind, yeah In the mind Chorus I raise up my eyes and I look up to the sky Praying for deliverance and I ask the question “why?” In my child’s heart, there must start, to see peace in my time Yeah in the mind Peace of mind In the mind Verse Two (Hit me) A crowd of demonstrators long for liberators Try to do the best they can but the short-term plan is just a sham See life as a joke, sit back with a smile and a Coke And enjoy the show (enjoy the show), yeah People are trying to find In the mind Peace of mind, yeah yeah Ah-ha in the mind Chorus Verse Three Maybe fall in love and build a place for two Find peace with the one above, I sure hope you will find it too May the God who gives peace be with you [repeats to fade] END |
