About the Artist
Mat Andasun Mat Andasun

Mat Andasun was born in Southend and moved to Nottingham to study politics. He played drums for progressive bands in his teens (including the magnificent Pendragon), moving out front to sing in his twenties when he got tired of being the last in the bar after packing way his kit at gigs. Since leaving University he has juggled being a composer, bandleader, community musician and husband with bringing in up two children. He co-founded and directs Sambawamba, the nationally renowned celebratory arts company and was has introduced Samba to thousands of people across the country. He plays guitar, drums, Brazilian hand percussion and sings.
